After two unforgettable years in Leeds, which have seen Flux go from humble beginnings to developing a reputation of which we are very proud, we have decided it is time to begin a new chapter. We will be taking the big leap and putting on parties in the capital to showcase our sound to a wider audience. The Sidings Arches will play host to our Launch Party on Friday the 14th of December. Joining us will be legendary Dutchman, Gerd, the eclectic German, Phillip Lauer, and Flux favourite, Australia's premier Berliner, Michelle Owen.

Here's a little glimpse of the venue in our preview video:

Artists
___________

Gert-Jan Bijl, aka Gerd, began his career in production back in the 80's, his first real breakthrough coming in 1991 when he was snapped up for a release on a house sub-label of Hawtin's Plus 8. He has since gone on gain a reputation for his variety and innovation, which have featured throughout a long career. Traces of jazz, Latin, funk and soul all wrap themselves around Gerd's house and techno beats, both in his own productions and those he selects to deploy when DJing or playing live around the world. It's that versatility and understanding of sound that have surely won Gerd fans including the respected likes of DJ Koze and Joris Voorn who have remixed his '1 In The Morning' and classic cut 'For Twelve Minutes She Danced With an Alien' recently, with well received results. We look forward to him making his Flux debut.

Phillip Lauer is a man with many guises, but the one thing that unites his various pseudonyms is a creativity and unwavering commitment to underground music that truly makes him a musician's musician. Perhaps his most infamous project was as part of deep house duo, Arto Mwambe. With releases on Output, Spectral, Sonar Kollektiv and home label Brontosaurus, tracks such as Une Seule Nuit have worked their way subtly into the collective house conscience. Lauer's most recent work has come as part of eclectic duo Tuff City Kids, and under his own name as Phillip Lauer. His solo album 'Phillips' was put out on infamous tastemaker Gerd Janson's label, Running Back. We look forward to witnessing this material first hand as part of his acclaimed live set.

Sydney-born Michelle Owen started DJ'ing in 1998, but waited some years finding her place in the scene before taking her first steps in production, finally seeing releases on Dirt Crew, Baker Street Recordings and Lost My Dog in 2010. Michelle has quickly gathered a large online following, and has become involved with Berlin label Moodmusic. Her first Moodmusic release, Perchance to Dream, earned her a wide range of plaudits, from Graeme Park to Moodymanc, and with Chez Damier on remix duties, and repeat performances ensuing at Panoramabar, it is clear that Michelle is on a rapid upwards trajectory. After her great performance on a memorable night for Flux at Holbeck Underground Ballroom in Leeds, we look forward to welcoming her back, this time to London.

Mixmag Live presents. Solomun (Diynamic). Was On Friday, December 14th. @ Fire, South Lambeth Road, Vauxhall, London SW8, United Kingdom, 10pm - 6am

Solomun
Karmon
The Mekanism
James Pople

2012 has been a vintage year for Solomun. The Hamburg DJ has risen to prominence because of his spellbinding deep house sets and the talent he has brought together on his record label, Diynamic.

We’ve named him our DJ Of The Year and he’ll be proving why at Mixmag Live on Friday December 14. From Berlin to Ibiza, Brazil to Brcelona, Solomun has mesmerised crowds with his warm, funky, highly melodic and totally euphoric sound.

A respected underground producer for a number of years, his recent, stratospheric rise in popularity kicked off last summer with his incendiary remixes of ‘Around’ by Noir & Haze and ‘Corporate Butcher’ by Tiefschwarz. Then when he and the Diynamic crew destroyed our party at Studio 80 during Amsterdam Dance Event 2011, we knew he was set for world domination.

This year he’s turned in a stunning mix CD for Watergate, released the dancefloor smashing ‘Kackvogel’, completed a legendary season at Sankeys Ibiza, sold-out two nights at Amsterdam Dance Event 2012 and made the cover of Mixmag. What more do you need to know? Solomun is the new vanguard for high quality house music. He’ll be rounding off the year in fine style. Support comes from Karmon, a bright young talent currently being nurtured by Solomun’s Diynamic stable as well as rising deep house stars The Mekanism and James Pople. Get your ticket booked now.

Those attending Mixmag Live will receive a copy of the Solomun issue of Mixmag as well as his incredible cover mix CD.

Lost & Found Label Launch. Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Sahar Z + System of Survival, Mood Trap. Was On Friday, December 14th. @ Egg, 200 York Way, Kings X, London, N7, 10pm - 6am

In the Basement we are very pleased to host the launch party of “Lost & Found”, Guy J’s new label featuring also Guy Mantzur and Sahar Z.

The Israeli DJ and producer is best known as part of the Bedrock family, having consistently appeared on the label's records and event bills over the past five years. Lost & Found is by no means a break from this trend: it will operate as a sub-label to John Digweed's esteemed imprint.

On the terrace we are running a special "Italian Affair" in collaboration with uber-cool promoters Deja' Vu - and their dedicated cosmopolitan following – providing a pre Christmas soiree. Circoloco's longest residens System of Survival will be playing aside Tsuba's anonymous duo Mood Trap, Ivo Toscano and Deja Vu resident Eddy Kruger.

Guy J
Guy J is at the forefront of a movement towards the melody-rich and emotionally charged roots of the house music spectrum. He’s a young, innovative producer, DJ and live act, whose infectious production talents resulted in his amazing 3CD artist album (1000 Words) being acclaimed as one of the musical highlights of 2011. Now, in 2012 he is continuing ever upwards. Highlights so far have included his exceptional remix of the classic Circulation track “Turquoise” (Mesmeric), the huge “Trezzz” collaboration with John Digweed and Nick Muir on Bedrock, an exclusive track (“Genesis”) on Sven Vath’s summer Cocoon compilation, the launch of a new series for Loopmasters, and his debut “Lost & Found” track for the label launch. The melodic maestro is most definitely firing on all cylinders! http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/guyj

System Of Survival
Residing primarily at DC10, the pair have been residents for Circo Loco since the party first began, Antonio knew of them and their productions back in his home town Salerno in Italy and brought them to Ibiza when it all kicked off. After countless years of commuting for the summer months they finally relocated to Ibiza full-time in 2008, coincidentally the same year that either of them finally ventured into any other club in Ibiza beside DC10!
“the people, music and vibe at DC10 is like no place on earth. Doesn't matter about any other club on the island for us, there is nowhere else as cutting edge or experimental as Circo Loco. The Djs and artists that are part of this family, are genuinely passionate about the music we all play, and the crowd actually appreciate the sounds there...last summer we had the privilege to play for 3 hours peak time on the terrace and to be able to play any style or genre and to know that the crowd would understand and follow us, this is
something very special. “ http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/systemofsurvival

Guy Mantzur
Tel Aviv-based electronic musician, Guy Mantzur has experienced much worldwide success in recent years. Specializing in electronic music that crosses genre boundaries: be it chill-out, progressive, techno or tech-house. His works have regularly featured on a multitude of TV shows, film soundtracks, and compilations. In addition to his studio talents, Guy is the co-owner and A&R for Munich-based label Plattenbank (alongside Yaniv Tal) and is the resident DJ of Tel-Aviv's most popular club - The Cat & The Dog. He can be recognized by his unique use of hypnotic melodies and sounds that can take you out into space and back again. http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/guymantzur

MOOD TRAP
The best way to find out more about yourself is to become someone else for a while. What better way to do that in music than unleashing a brand new pseudonym that gives you total freedom of expression? Just ask London based duo, Moodtrap. Shedding the identity of their current producer / DJ project, the pair will remain anonymous in a bid to simply let their music do the talking. Their purist approach towards the promotion of Mootrap is both refreshing and reflective of the attitude of their music, namely 90s influenced, classic house sounds. Having first appeared with a track on the wonderfully inimitable Tsuba Records, Moodtrap's releases will be for Kevin Griffiths' imprint exclusively. http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/moodtrap

Melt Music 8. Dinky (Cocoon ) & Didier Allyne (Syncrophone). Was On Saturday, December 8th. @ at a secret location, 10pm - 6am

Dinky (Cocoon )
Didier Allyne (Syncrophone)
Arnaud Le Texier ( Safari Electronique-Cocoon-Melt Music)
Maura ( Leftroom Records-Melt Music )
Monika Ross ( Serialism-Uberbeat-Melt Music)

Ho, ho, ho! T’is almost the season to be jolly and boy, does Melt HQ like to get festive! Having come of age with a historic b2b performance from messrs DJ Qu and Efdemin, the night is now looking to rise up from the basement that’s served us so well. We’ll definitely be in a new intimate venue for this party and who better to help us get on down in our manger than Cocoon’s shining star, Dinky!

The Christmas instalment will take place on 8th December, and whilst we can’t promise you too many carols, it’ll no doubt be big on beats. Melt was busy representing at Distortion festival in Copenhagen earlier this year, where we caught Dinky working both the crowd and a seriously bang on trend hair cut. Her rousing tech-house set, in tow with boyfriend Matthew Styles, was comfortably one of the best we witnessed so she was an absolute shoe-in for the crimbo special.

Supporting Dinky on the night will be electronic music aficionado, Didier Allyne. This Paris-based player has serious scene credentials, having fine tuned his game with regular slots at the notorious Rex club in Paris over the past 2 decades. He also finds time to run the house label Syncrophone, together with a record store that’s played host to house music doyennes such as Carl Craig! You bet we’re thrilled to have him share his vast experience with you all this yuletide.

Also present will be our now infamous residents, the three wise DJs! The duo with more cool than a freezer, Monika Ross and Maura will be back, well rested after their birthday after-party shenanigans. As will Arnaud Le-Texier with his own special brand of French fancy.

So come all ye faithful and snap up your tickets! Because your presence, as ever, is the biggest gift.
