An evening with.... Wild Geese. Was On Saturday, June 19th. @ Dalston Superstore, 177 Kingsland High St, London, E8 2PB , 9pm - 4am

WILD GEESE... why, they're literally our favourite DJ duo!

Known as Frank Tope & Dan Foat to their mums, the pair have enthralled dancefloors at Disco Bloodbath, Bugged Out and Bestival with a unique sound that makes decade-old techno bangers sound boxfresh and their own brand new productions sound amazingly vintage.

They're playing a 4 hour set in our little basement!

Subterranian support comes from Say Yes queen NADIA KSAIBA. Meanwhile upstairs top london disc jockeys LUKE HOWARD, TAYO & CHARLIE PORTER are all chipping in with a deft Hi-NRG, 80s Groove, sleaze, disco combo!

and... we go til 4am!

amazicles!

see you on the dancefloor

As the summer season creeps ever closer, talk of the world’s greatest parties ring in the air, and yes, many of us will be heading to the hedonistic white isle that celebrates club land opulence and furiously commemorates dance music culture, but those of us left behind or that will only get to taste the Balearic sensation for a short while need a haven of our own. Enter Body Move. Resident club night, music haven and DJ congregation at London’s favourite party house for summer 2010 – Egg. Presenting the fourth BodyMove Party since its Launch in March earlier this year, the intention to shine some light and warmth on our summer weekends in our smoke quilted city carries on in to the next series of events. Previous guests have included Michael Gray, Steve Smart, Kid Massive, Mr C, Boy George and more. BodyMove are bringing an evening, night and umm, day filled with sexy, groovy, Techy, dirty House-music and a bit of Glitz with the unveiling of the new, fabulous, sexy and ever so important All Star VIP room in the Apothecary. The tailored for all party hasn’t gone unnoticed and MTV Dance have jumped on the bandwagon to film the nights debauchery, bang on trend of course. So ladies and gents get ready and strike your best summer pose!

LINE-UP

Saturday 19th June sees the launch of FORM. Although a new kid on the musical block, this fresh young upstart brings you the kind of savvy format you'd expect from a night much older in years. A truly bespoke night, it will concentrate on quality programming, production, ambience and and the kind of line ups you rarely see outside of festivals these days. Sound wise each event will be non genre specific... The main bulk of the evening will revolve around the house, deep house and techno spectrum. But be prepared to hear a few snippets of electronica, funk, hiphop, disco, mashup, classic house tracks, ska and all that goes inbetween.

FORM has been founded by a team of industry veterans. They have been working under various roles and guises within clubland, music, radio, press, technical, production, fashion and creative for over 20 years collectively. Some have even been lured out of retirement to be involved in this exciting new project. The culmination of their experience, enthusiasm and essentially their “contacts” means they can bring you something very special indeed.

This collaboration of people realised there was something lacking on the London club scene, and a massive target audience were not being catered to. The whole of clubland has become saturated with so-called “underground” club nights at present. In reality this format is now so common place that all they bring us is the same old crowds, the same old venues, the same old sounds and the same old experiences – all the while still claiming to be individual. These kind of events also alienate lots of people who like a good night out just by the sheer “cliquey” element attached to them.

FORM wants to shake it up and do things differently. They'd like to give you a night which is thoroughly down to earth and without pretention. The line ups are aimed at the sort of regulars who may not go out every week, but will come out of hiding for nights which strike a chord with them and those which have the premise of something a bit special. The lineups will speak for themselves for each event, bursting with the kind of names that need no introduction. FORM aims to give you what you've been holding out for... A night out with a lovely, welcoming crowd, amazing music, banging soundsystem, eye catching production, and most importantly a night that was actually, for once, worth the effort!

What?. w/ Margaret Dygas & Glimpse. Was On Friday, June 18th. @ The Gramaphone, 60-62 Commercial St, London, E1 6LT, 10pm - 6am

WHAT? with MARGARET DYGAS & GLIMPSE @ THE GRAMAPHONE....
Friday 18th June 2010, 10pm – 6am

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Our line up is now complete! We are more than delighted to announce that our party, WHAT? will be taking place at The Gramaphone basement on Friday 18th of June and we welcome two of our favourite artists. Our first artist is from Berlin and it’s nobody else but our special guest Margaret Dygas. The second artist is very respected Londoner and it‘s Mr Christopher Spero aka Glimpse.

Margaret Dygas (powershovelaudio, perlon, panorama bar)

Margaret Dygas is a woman with a colourful past. She was born in Poland, lived in sunny California, studied fashion in New York and experienced busy London before settling down in Berlin to work on her music.
It was in New York and London where she fell in love with the vibrant electronic music scene and it made her the artist we know now.
In 2006 she made her first move into production, which resulted in releasing ‘’Day After’’ (2007) on the label Contexterrior, and got a great response. Soon after in 2008 she released ‘’See You Around’’ on Tobias’s label Non Standard Productions and recently caught eyes of the guys from Perlon, where she released her amazing ‘’Invisible Circles’’(2009).
Margaret Dygas is a respected artist, regularly sharing a DJ booth with DJs like Zip or Ricardo Villalobos. She holds residence at proclaimed Berghain/ Panorama Bar in Berlin and is coming to Gramaphone to share a lot of amazing music with us. We’re very excited to have her playing at our party because we know what the capabilities are of this special lady.

Glimpse (crosstown rebels, planet e, cadenza)

Christopher Spero aka Glimpse has one of the most wanted lives in the world. He’s building his reputation since his first releases back in 2005, when he released on Leftroom and his own imprint Glimpse Recordings under the “Spero” alias. By 2008, Glimpse established himself as one of the UK’s most innovative and exciting acts. He is one of the key acts in Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom stable, he also released “Black Collections” album in Asia which led to sold out shows in Japan. In 2009 we’ve seen Glimpse touring North America, Europe, Japan and Australia. His material got released on labels such as Carl Craig’s Planet E, collaboration with Lee Van Dowski on Lucianos’ Cadenza, another collaboration with Alex Jones appeared on Kindisch and we’ve seen releases also on Buzzin Fly and Boxer. This year he’ll be releasing his album “Runner” on Crosstown Rebels, which should appear in distribution very soon. Glimpse is an artist regularly playing in the most exciting venues all around the world and now we got him to play at The Gramaphone at our party. Usually we see him playing live, but this time at What? you can look forward to his superb DJ set.

Our special guests will be supported by resident DJs Juraj and Brano. Guys its going to be undoubtly an unforgetable night and we are very much looking forward to dance with you again!

See you on the dancefloor.
