The Wighnomy Brothers make a very welcome and long overdue return to London, Robag Wruhme & Monkey Maffia got to know each other in 1989 (supposedly while break dancing) but became the Wighnomy Brothers in 1997. The Wighnomy Brothers’ music is self-described as “raving with reason”: sometimes cheerful and sometimes dark, together or solo the pair make minimal techno that punts straight for the dancefloor.
Thomas Fehlmann (now 52 years of age) but Fehlmann's passion for electronic music certainly doesn't seem to be waning. In the early-'90s he teamed up with Moritz von Oswald and Juan Atkins to work under the 3MB moniker, and has also been brought in as a member of The Orb. Fehlmann mixing dubwise Berlin techno sounds with elements of classic Detroit house, retaining the shimmering melodies that Fehlmann has made his trademark.
Alongside hero Michael Mayer, finishing off the mulletover vs Kompakt showcase is Jo Saurbier.
The world's largest independent music site - Resident Advisor adds further twists and turns from London’s hotflush label - Scuba
Paul Rose, founder of foundation Dubstep labels Hotflush and Scuba Recordings. His early shows on pirate radio in London led to a close involvement with the beginnings of the scene that became known as ‘Dubstep’
The debut Hotflush release hit the street in 2003 and the label has gone on to become one of the most distinctive and innovative labels. With a catalogue of over a dozen singles featuring scene leaders such as Shakelton, Benga, Distance, Boxcutter and Vex’d to name a few, Scuba is considered a Dubstep visionary who’s own production explores the nuances of a style still pregnant with possibility.
Alongside "Hyph Mngo/Wet Look" God’ – Joy Orbison plus support from Harri & Dominic (Sub Club, Glasgow) & Ewan Smith
As one of the leading labels in tech-house over the past five years, Dirtybird Records roles into town from the West Coast with a very special guest….
But you will have to wait for now… But alongside Justin Martin are some very special friends in tow - J.Phlip, Sketchy & Another Amit
Phlip (pronounced J Flip) discovered house music in her hometown of Champaign, Illinois. Her proximity to Chicago’s famous house scene tremendously affected her sound, with her sets posses a fun, “lets-not-forget-this-is-dance-music,” feeling and simultaneously keep you guessing about what might come next. Her collection spans house, deep house, techno, booty bass and pretty much anything that make you shake your ass. She’s currently locked in love in San Francisco, with her skills on the decks and in the studio securing her highly desirable spot as an official member of the dirtybird crew.
Showcasing great acts in unique urban spaces; eastern electrics bring the raw feel of the underground back to the London scene for one more time before the end of the year.
