20:20 VISION PRESENTS:
12hr Shoreditch Day-Night Special

Saturday 14th August, put the date in your diary. 2020Vision are in town with an immense line up of live acts and DJ’s playing at the amazing Village Underground venue. 2020Vision have been at the forefront of underground electronic music scene for 16 years now, and show no signs of stopping. They’ve continually ploughed their own furrow from their Leeds base, carving out a niche in deep and funky electronic music of the highest quality.

Anyone who’s been to one of their annual Sonar nights know the label know how to throw a good party, and this is guaranteed to be one of their best ever, with a line up and venue made for each other. Calling on the services of their contemporary stars, the label offers you a rare, live and intimate show from 2020Soundsystem plus sets from Crazy P Soundsystem, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Julien Chaptal, Simon Baker, and the boss himself, Ralph Lawson, plus dj support from Wolf+Lamb's Jozif, Chris Halliday and Danny Raper.

The scene for all this is a venue as awesome in the day as it is at night. Village Underground is an expansive, raw space with skylight studded ceiling in a restored Victorian warehouse, set in the heart of East London's Shoreditch. Making the most of the summer sun, this party kicks off nice and early giving the label the chance to showcase the full spectrum of its unique sound, in both a live and dj format. This will be the only chance to see 2020Soundsystem Live in London this year as they embark on a mini tour that takes in Sonar, Big Chill, Space Ibiza and The Garden Festival Croatia. It’s also a rare chance to see some of the cream of their globe trotting DJ and producer talent representing the label in one of London's most breathtaking live music venues.

A Night With.... Steve Bug. Was On Saturday, August 14th. @ Scrutton Street Studio,s 73-75 Scrutton St, London, EC2A 4PJ, 10pm - 6am

A Night With...Steve Bug
Saturday 14th August 2010
**Secret Location**
10pm - 6am
Advance Tickets £15 Only Available from www.residentadvisor.net

The connoisseur of quality underground dancefloor music, Steve Bug is the next in line to perform an epic eight-hour set for the A Night With... series. Considered as a tech-house master and one of the few gems of the innovative German electronic house scene, he is the perfect candidate to follow in the footsteps of Michael Mayer, Matt John and Cassy.

As a DJ, producer and head of the family of record labels Poker Flat, Dessous and Audiomatique, Steve Bug has a career that spans two decades and countries all over the globe. His extensive discography reveals his enthusiasm for open-minded techno as much as his DJ sets. His label operation is split into three, with Poker Flat concentrating on a tight cluster of tech house artists, Dessous Recordings concentrating on house-orientated material, and his most recent baby Audiomatique looks outside the Poker Flat family for new production talent. It makes sense then, that his sets sit somewhere in between the varied styles of his 3 labels, taking pride in being able to move the room seamlessly from one genre to the other. Bug plays with seductive and laid-back funk, dirty retro basslines and random bleeps, incorporating techno electro and basic funk into bare house grooves creating moody minimal and seductive music.

Steve Bug has collaborated with several world-class producers and DJ's including Richie Hawtin, Josh Wink and Matthias Tanzmann. Last year he released his album, 'Collaboratory' on Poker Flat, a full length artist album collaborating with Cle, Paris the Black Fu (one half of the Detroit Grand Pubahs), Cassy, Virginia, Simon Flower, Donnacha Costello and Gigi, resulting in a smooth mix of electro-house tracks infused with deep, pulsating bass, silky vocals, sirens and bells. More recently Bug's unshakably individual imprint, Poker Flat reaches its one hundred and eleventh release with a concise yet masterfully produced two tracker from the man himself. 'Flight 111' takes in the usual Steve Bug ethos that less is more, spawning two dark and enveloping house tracks that build from unassuming positions into club killers. Expect more of this ethos and mind control on 14th August as Bug takes the reins of A Night With...

Steve Bug will lead us into the fourth 'A Night With...' - proven to be a truly unique series of events with a rare extended performance demonstrating his flair and diversity. A Night With... chooses one special artist to perform for the entire evening, presenting their own personal musical journey from start to finish to a small and intimate crowd. A simple concept that is focused purely on enjoyment, it strips everything back to the bones to create an extremely special occasion for all those in attendance.

Vintage at Goodwood. Vintage at Goodwood Festival. Was On Friday, August 13th. @ Goodwood Estate, Friday - Sunday

WHAT IS VINTAGE AT GOODWOOD?

Vintage at Goodwood – 13, 14, 15 August 2010 – is the first of what will be an annual music and fashion led celebration of creative British cool from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s & 80s, featuring the leading DJs, bands, collectors, purveyors of vintage clothing and vintage vinyl from each decade, as well as contemporary bands and brands inspired by Britain’s rich creative and cultural heritage.

The New Festival of Britain

Vintage will explore the musical, design and cultural lineages and explore where they are taking us. Think of Vintage at Goodwood as the new annual Festival of Britain. Whether your thing is Swing, Rockabilly, Mod, Soul, Funk, Disco, Ska, Electro, Burlesque, Film, Art & Design, or  you just want to dress up and get an authentic ‘flat top’ and make-over for a day, Vintage at Goodwood will be visual, responsible, aural and sensual, a big family dressing up box, a collectors dream and a joyous creative feast for all ages.

On a truly breathtaking site, nestling into the South Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (and soon to be National Park) with access to the wonderful beaches and harbours of coastal West Sussex – Vintage at Goodwood will bring together lovers of the music, fashions, food and lifestyles of the decades that gave Britain its creative heritage. And then there’s the accommodation. From onsite luxury of the Goodwood Hotel, to ‘Glamping’| in secluded glades, Vintage at Goodwood will give you a unique opportunity to holiday in the most beautiful area of Southern England.

Sussex

Sitting slap bang in the middle of a sporting estate, Vintage at Goodwood is a place to play! How do you fancy dressing up in classic ‘woolly whites’ and having a game of cricket, or donning some ‘plus-fours’ and enjoying a few holes on one of the England’s finest golf courses...all this is in one of the nation’s most beautiful locations. In fact we think it is so beautiful, and are so keen to keep it that way, that Vintage will be steeped in environmental thinking and full of opportunities to learn about and partake in forgotten skills based on thrifty, sustainable inventiveness.

Vintage Curators

Vintage at Goodwood is the brainchild of designers Gerardine Hemingway MBE|, Wayne Hemingway MBE| – who started their business selling and customising second hand clothes and are now co-owners of Britain’s premier collection of cultural artefacts, The Land of Lost Content Museum|, and Lord March – mastermind behind the internationally acclaimed Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival, and proprietor of one of the largest organic farms in the south of England.

With the proven and award winning Goodwood and Hemingway Design teams backed up by a stellar collection of Vintage Curators, we promise an unparallel attention to design and organisational detail that will ensure that Vintage at Goodwood is an event to remember, the worlds annual holiday for lovers of cool popular culture.

There has never been anything like Vintage at Goodwood, come and join us and see why the world marvels at Britain’s contribution to 20th century culture.

Plus dj sets in room 2 from:

Russ Tannen, Med Lacoste, Blanco & Jac The Disco

As the cherry on top of a jam packed summer of partying Snap, Crackle and Pop are hosting the latest in a line of legendary summer parties at East Village in the heart of Shoreditch. Following on from the Snap, Crackle and Pop third birthday when the Martinez Brothers and Daniel Steinberg gave T Bar an amazing send off, the line up for this party is guaranteed to provide a night to remember.

Headlining on the night is Guillaume & The Couto Dumonts who will be bringing one of the most celebrated live sets in underground electronic dance music to Snap, Crackle and Pop. Guillaume's new album, 'Breaking The Fourth Wall' has been described as “a well deserved victory lap”, taking the hyperkinetic, polyrhythmic fusion of sampled percussion, snippets of acoustic instrumentation, drum-machine patterns and subtle synthesizer shading far beyond the limits of the conventional dance floor. Having released on the likes of Oslo Records and Circus Company and with appearances this summer at Cocoon and Cadenza in Ibiza we're proud and privileged to have Guillaume appearing at our Summer Party.

Support in the main room will be provided by East London legend Matt Walsh. Spotted by Tiga playing at T Bar, and with a residency at Bugged Out! that has allowed him to tour the world with his trademark style that encompasses Electronic House and Techno through to New Wave, Acid House and Disco, Matt always provides the perfect soundtrack to any party he plays.

Room 2 will be headlined by Kill 'Em All's co-founder Stop Making Me. His kinetic mix of unwashed heavy electro, mutant new wave, huge disco, pulsing techno, updated post-punk and perfect pop has seen him constantly win over new fans, not least Simian Mobile Disco who hand-picked him to join them on their nationwide tour.

Further support spread over both rooms will come from some of East London's freshest up and coming d.j's including Snap, Crackle and Pop residents Harry James, Med Lacoste and Carlosi, Fuck The Whiteboard's Russ Tannen, Jac The Disco and Blanco.
