NS. Maribou State, Shola Ama, Toyboy & Robin.. Was On Thursday, March 28th. @ The Nest, 36-44 Stoke Newington Rd, London, N16 7XJ, 10pm - 4am

Maribou State's combination of deep bass, cut up vocals and soulful house is something that SBTRKT would be proud of and could be described as a more mature sounding Disclosure.

It was in 2011 that the pair started to seep into the souls of their followers after playing at one of Mixmag’s top 10 clubs nights - WAYF. It continued to be a successful year when a mix created for Hush House caught the attention of TFA and they were soon signed onto the label.

The Habitat EP and Got Me Down single were quickly released the same year, although it wasn’t until the dulcet notes of Olivia eased through people’s speakers that the group really started to high tail it. Since then, their remixes of Jagga, 2 Bears, Wretch 32 and Crookers (which soared to number one in The Hype Machine) have earned them an array of followers. The well-respected Eddy Temple Morris of XFM weekly supports the 2 Bears remix and voted Olivia as ‘Tune of the Year’ as well as naming Maribou State his ‘Number one producers’ of 2012.

Apogee v Potty Mouth. DJ T., Tiger & Woods (Live), Duke Dumont, Waze & Odyssey. Was On Thursday, March 28th. @ at a secret location, 10pm - 6am

This Easter we've got an amazing party lined up, with an eclectic mix of some of the best names in house and disco who've been getting dancefloors pumping for years, and several of the best breakthrough artists for 2013. And we're very excited about the very unique new 2 room space we've got for the party - a beautiful converted warehouse space with high ceilings, exposed brickwork, and great acoustics. Expect a full funktion1 soundsystem, great production, and most importantly superb house and disco all night!!

Get involved early, this will sell out!

LINEUP:

First up on the decks is one of the founders of legendary Berlin record label Get Physical's - DJ T.  Over 20+ years DJ T has built up a rep as one of the most exciting, varied and accomplished djs to come out of Germany.  Dj T is loved across the world as one of the finest djs around because as a DJ he's neither a style fascist or a slave to trends; and whether playing peaktime sets or early morning after parties always coming through as a groove- and bass-addicted club connoisseur. As well as his acclaimed installment for the Fabric mix series and his Body Language compilation, he's produced a number of outstanding original albums including Boogie Playground and his Pleasure Principle album in 2011.  As a producer, T. has worked with the likes of Steve Bug and Thomas Schumacher, and has a rep for taking classic sounds and reinventing them for modern ears and dancefloors.  He's a total legend and we're very excited about him headlining our Easter warehouse party.

Next up are the prolific yet mysterious Italian duo TIGER & WOODS, who will be playing an EXCLUSIVE LONDON LIVE SET at our Easter warehouse party.  Having appeared out of nowhere in 2009 with their immediately classic and legendary disco edit of Walk Like an Egyptian under the moniker Cleo & Patra, they were instantly underground sensations.  But over the last 3 and half years T&W have clocked up countless edits, artfully tuning, slicing and dicing old disco / boogie edits and crafting them into very unique and charismatic dancefloor disco-house monsters.  And it's because of the consistent and impressive high quality of their output over the last 3 years on their cult Editainment Records that, despite being very secretive, T&W have become a global brand name in dance music.  Now, having just released their second studio album in Jan 2013, we're bringing them to London as part of their current global tour for a full live set which will showcase their brand new material as well as taking in their back catalogue of smooth, hyper-looped disco and house edits.  Excited!!

Joining DJ T on the decks next is DUKE DUMONT.   Duke has been putting out records sporadically for a number of years but has rocketed into the limelight in the last 6 months following the release of his hugely acclaimed Volume One, and Volume Two EPs.  In January this year alone he has been labelled as the One To Watch for 2013 by Annie Mac, and he provided the Essential Mix on Pete Tong's show as well. His Volume 2 series takes in a 'futuristic take' on uplifting vocal house on 'The Giver', and a crossover between deep house and bass music on the a-side 'No Money Blues'.  But as he demonstrated in his Essential Mix, he's a great dj as well, skillfully taking the listener on a journey through vocal house anthems, bass grooves and more leftfield numbers.  We're super hyped to see what he has in store for the dancefloor this Easter!

Waze & Odyssey are part of a new wave of emerging UK producers who are helping to keep the UK house scene on its toes.  After their first release in early 2012, “Ah Baby (Here We Go Again)”  they’ve released a whole load of remixes, originals, and bootlegs, ranging from raw, urban garage tracks through to epic ’90s-influenced house anthems.  They originally created a fake background story about being US garage veterans raised on a diet of funk & soul in Miami, but then they came clean that they were just having a laugh with that story and are actually a couple of London veterans called Serge Santiago and Firas Waez.  With a distinct Waze & Odyssey sound evolving, a new W & O record label, a love of keeping people guessing, and support from the likes of Pete Tong, Lazaro Casanova, Bicep, and Friendly Fires, Waze & Odyssey are set to be BIG in 2013.

Bedrock Easter Special. John Digweed (Extended set), Tim Green, Tom Middleton, Jimpster. Was On Thursday, March 28th. @ Area, 67 Albert Embankment; Vauxhall; London SE1 7TP, 10pm - 6am

Taking place on its traditional Maundy Thursday date, Bedrock returns to London this Easter for the first time since last October’s unforgettable Anniversary party. For the next instalment, Bedrock has chosen Area in Vauxhall for an intimate, three room showcase. With this event restricted to just 1000 tickets and hosted at a venue never used by Bedrock before, early booking is essential to guarantee your place. Following phenomenal feedback, label boss John Digweed will continue where he left off at Bedrock’s Anniversary by playing another extended seven hour main room set, showcasing the very best in underground house and techno. He will be joined by some illustrious guests, some of which will be playing Bedrock for the very first time.

The first addition to this carefully selected line-up is the excellent Tim Green. With material released on Cocoon, Get Physical, and Dirtybird, Tim possesses the ability to manoeuvre effortlessly through the realms of house and techno based on his original underground roots. Having recently released a four track EP ‘Three Days Ago’ on Flumo Recordings, music lovers from all over will be eager to witness Tim’s performance as he headlines room two of our Easter showcase.

As one of the finest DJs and producers we have ever had the privilege of listening to, we are delighted to welcome Global Communication’s Tom Middleton to Bedrock. Having been on our hit list for many years, Tom’s outstanding musical repertoire is set to be received excellently by the Bedrock faithful, as he showcases the talent that has remixed the likes of Underworld, Model 500 and Leftfield and worked closely with Aphex Twin and Mark Pritchard.

With a strong emphasis on the warmer, deeper end of the house spectrum, Jimpster’s approach has found him DJing at the world’s most elite clubs such as Fabric, Panorama Bar, Watergate and Cielo. As well as co-running labels Freerange and recently launched Delusions of Grandeur, Jimpster has built up an exceptional reputation for his remixing ability having worked with top industry figures such as Joris Voorn, Osunlasde, Solomun and Josh Wink. With superb new track ‘These Times’ supported by Dixon and Manuel Tur remixes and a fifth studio LP on Freerange scheduled for an early May release, we proudly welcome Jimpster to the Bedrock Easter line-up.

Finally John Barber, resident DJ at Southampton’s underground bunker Junk, completes our line-up alongside Lowbit Records who return following their label showcase at the Anniversary event. Representing this evolving, forward-thinking imprint will be Sonic Union, Wade Bennett, GRG, Dale Middleton and Chris Richardson.

The past twelve months has seen Bedrock exercise its ability to constantly grow and adapt to the ever evolving electronic music scene. Label showcases at South West Four, BPM Festival and Amsterdam Dance Event have been complimented by standout appearances from John Digweed at Timewarp, Awakenings, Space Ibiza, Womb Tokyo and Fabric. Bedrock’s Easter party will once again provide an overload of the senses at an underground London venue and is certainly not to be missed by fans of quality electronic sounds.

Night Moves 1st Birthday. XDB + residents Jane Fitz & Jade Seatle. Was On Saturday, March 23rd. @ at a secret location, 9pm - late

NIGHT MOVES is ONE: One year old, one party, one love.

One year of seasonal parties, unique guests, warm vibes and mindblowing music - and now NIGHT MOVES is back for more. It's spring, a time of new beginnings. And so here comes a fresh new season of moving the night. Ready to do it all again?

Our first year was everything we wanted: Jenifa Mayanja, Hakim Murphy, DJ Spider and 2DeepSoul all played their first London gigs with us, we found a great venue where we can do what we like and who treat you right. And we found all of you - thank you to everyone who has partied with us and supported NIGHT MOVES in our first year. We didn't know if we'd make it past our first party... but we're really glad we did. Thank you for believing in us, as we try to do things a little differently.

To celebrate a year of throwing our parties, to celebrate our first birthday we are blessed to be joined by someone who we've admired for years. Someone who loves playing records and, we're sure, will inspire you as much as he does us: XDB.

NIGHT MOVES: WE ARE ONE.

Bleed presents.... Hieroglyphic Being + Holly Herndon. Was On Saturday, March 23rd. @ Basing House, 25 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch, E28AA, 10pm - 4am

Looming large at the crossroads between the experimental and the dancefloor, Jamal Moss AKA HIEROGLYPHIC BEING is the man and the legend behind the amazing Mathematics label. Mentored by Steve Poindexter and Adonis, and proclaiming himself as "the last of the line of producers directly inspired by Ron Hardy at Music Box", he is uniquely qualified to write a new chapter of Chicago's rich musical history.

He will be joined on the night by HOLLY HERNDON, playing her second London appearance, and first club show, on the back of a sold out Cafe OTO headline show. One of the most in-demand new names in the electronic underground, with a critically acclaimed RVNG LP 'Movement' and a forthcoming collaboration with Hieroglyphic Being himself, this will be the first and last chance to see her in a club context in 2013.

BleeD's resident DJ, VOLTE-FACE will be warming up the night with a suitably bonkers selection of records.

Basing House is one of London's best small club spaces, with a finely tuned Funktion 1 rig, and an intimate feeling, not to mention some mighty fine retro rave credentials, in the form of camo-netting on the ceiling. BleeD have used the space once before, for the first ever Blackest Ever Black showcase, where British Murder Boys, Cut Hands and Raime all performed live. Capacity is limited to 300.
