secretsundaze. secretsundaze w/ Todd Terje. Was On Sunday, March 7th. @ Paramount, Centre Point, 103 New Oxford Street, 2pm - 11pm

secretsundaze in association with the Red Bull Music Academy are proud to announce a collaboration in the form of a party on Sunday 7th March at Paramount in the epicentre of London. We are particularly honoured to have been asked to get involved in such a project with something as credible as The Academy which has always been so firmly focused on helping, encouraging and developing cutting edge, nascent talent - ideals which we hold with such high esteem at secretsundaze.

Paramount is situated on the 31st floor of Centre Point 385 feet up in the air and with unparalleled 360 degree vistas, is sure to make it party not to forget. Of course both secretsundaze and RBMA will be transforming the venue production wise in keeping with our high production values.

Musically as usual, we have quite a treat in store. Headlining is Todd Terje. Todd's music exudes musicality and playfulness covering the bases of House, Techno, Funk and Disco and a strong resistance to be pigeonholed. In terms of production, he broke on to the scene big time, with his remix of  “Another Station” and Eurodans through his allegiance with Oslo's other famous perpetrators Prins Thomas and Lindstrom. He could also be crowned King of the edits, covering everything from Moodyman and Simon Baker thorugh to Chris Rea, Guns N Roses and The Turtles. But perhaps the only way to sum up his music is in the words of the man himelf "“I like  playing both big room/macho style, but at the same time it’s the girls I play for really. So I guess it’s a mixture of high octane, leather homo-disco done up with mambo, coconuts and lipstick”. If you got to see his special 3 hour set at last year’s Big Chill then you will know what he’s talking about.

Our second guest we are also hugely excited about comes in the form of Soundstream. Strictly one for the headz! Soundstream, based in Berlin, originally worked in the hallowed shop Hard Wax, alongside the likes of Prosumer and Cassy, amongst others, has been singled out for his fresh take on House and Disco, with massive underground hits such as "Live Goes On” and "Luv Jam", which were staples on many discerning jocks boxes, with their authentic sound. His band Soundhacks, remixes for Villalobos "Easy Lee" and Herbert's "Moving Like a Train", cemented his reputation as one of the movers and shakers of the last few years.

Last up out very own gun slingers Giles Smith and James Priestley will be in full force alongside a participant from the Red Bull Academy hand picked by both RBMA and secretsundaze.

With an allegiance between secretsundaze and RBMA with such a mouth watering line up all taking place in one of the most stunning, unique locations in London, makes this an unmissable party. See you there

The guestlist for the secretsundaze RBMA will be closing tomorrow. We have had an overwhelming response - if you have sent your name before Friday 6pm 26th February, your name is on the list, although entry is not guaranteed. We advise early arrival to avoid disappointment plus please be aware, there will be a door picking policy in operation.

However, we are holding a competition to win 5 pairs of tickets / guaranteed entry guestlist to the event. We want to know what's your favourite secretsundaze experience and why? The best answers, which will be handpicked from team secretsundaze, will be chosen and the winning applicants e-mailed back with confirmation. If you haven't heard anything, then presume you haven't been picked. If you have already made the list, you can still apply for this competition as winning guarantees entry.

The next secretsundaze party takes place on Easter Thursday 1st April. Keep your eyes peeled for details.

Love

Governed by conservative licensing laws, Britain has been raised in a strict race-against-the-clock pub culture, where glasses are downed as fast and frequently as possible before the “last call” bell rings. Nothing is more liberating to a Londoner than the idea of a 24 hour party culture; the excitement of being able to keep going for as long as mind, body and soul will allow. The feeling that something could last forever is a powerful one. When the party is good, it should continue.

Our rather epic 10th birthday party this past October, which was a rampant success for 30 hours straight, solidified the writing on the wall: London is fully prepared to carry on and on…and on. And so are we.

On Saturday, 6 March we will begin a series of parties that are a celebration of dance, music, sleep deprivation and our 24 hour license. Opening at 11pm on Saturday night, the music will not stop until early Monday morning (once again we will be open for 30 hours nonstop). The concept is simple: to keep going whilst taking in the different moods as the evening unfolds into daytime and then into night again. Far from being an endurance test, it presents the chance to get more from an evening at fabric - more time in darkness, more music, more artists…the operative word is ‘more.’

Some people may opt to come down on Saturday and see where the night takes them, some may pop down after a Sunday breakfast to dive deep into fascinating electronic soundscapes during the day, and some might just come for the last stretch on Sunday eve. Some people will come and go over the prolonged period. Some will never leave.

“What better use can be made of the daylight hours than dancing in the dark, it always feels great. There's something wonderful about not knowing what time it is. For us it’s a chance to present more - some artists will play longer sets, some will play two sets with different flavours.

Fabric has always been a late night club. Many times it’s felt the night could go on forever. Many times it has. After the resounding success of our last birthday, we decided that every once in a while we should go ON AND ON...On into the day and on and into the next night. Sometimes the music won't let you stop, every so often on a Saturday night we intend to let it keep going.”

Fact. Fact at The Lock. Was On Sunday, March 7th. @ The Lock Tavern, 35 Chalk Farm Road, Camden, London., 3pm - 11pm

FACT’s bi-monthly Sunday sessions at the Lock Tavern have become rather notorious over the past year, showcasing the vanguard of garage, dubstep, house and more – with DJs like Cooly G, Sinden, Untold and Darkstar – in the intimate environs of a self-proclaimed “tarted up boozer” in Camden.

Well, not being ones to rest on our laurels, we’ve teamed up with the Red Bull Music Academy to make our next free Lock party, on Sunday 7 March, even more special than you’ve come to expect: ladies and gentlemen, we’re going to be joined by the truly stellar trio of Rustie, MJ Cole and Joy Orbison.

Rustie’s come a long way since we first profiled him back in 2007, and thanks to the devastating EPs Jagz The Smack and Bad Science, he’s already a bona fide icon of the UK underground. With his debut album expected to drop on Warp this year and his live show quickly taking shape, 2010 is evidently going to be Rustie’s biggest year yet, so we’re thrilled that he can duck out to join us for this most intimate of parties.

MJ Cole is one of the original and supreme architects of UK garage, and singles like ‘Too Blind’ (1996) and ‘Sincere’ remain unsurpassed in their ability to balance complex, polished musicality with street-smart 2-step rhythm. Having released Sincere, arguably the finest full-length album ever spawned by UKG, in 1999, MJ spent the following decade releasing a stream of highly accomplished works on his own aptly named Prolific Recordings label; more recently he’s taken to enthusiastically to pushing UK funky and the modern house sound of London. The man's a national treasure, and we couldn't be happier to have him involved.

Our third and final headliner is Joy Orbison, whose magnificent 2009 single ‘Hyph Mngo’ was, quite simply, all-conquering. Having recently followed up ‘Hyph’ with the excellent ‘J.Doe’ / ‘BRKLN CLLN’ 12″ on his own Doldrums label, O’Grady will soon be releasing a phenomenal single on Will Saul’s Aus Music imprint. A discerning and deadly DJ as well as producer, operating smack bang in the fertile interzone between dubstep, garage and house, if you ask us this kid is deserving of all the hype he gets.
